You can now divide 4 pair cable into 2 separate circuits with a Cat5 Economiser. The CE45 Cat5 Economiser, used in pairs at each end of a cable run, allows 4 pair cable to be divided in two separate twisted pair data signal sockets. They are only appropriate if, to transmit data, 2 pairs are required. By plugging one economiser direct into a wall outlet and another into a patch panel at the other end; one cable run of 4 twisted pair can be used to transmit 2 sets of data signals.
The adaptors, to be used in pairs at
each end of a cable run, allow Cat.5 10 Base T and 100 Base TX data
signals to be divided - provided they only use 2 twisted pair to
transmit data. By plugging one economiser direct into a wall outlet and
another into a patch panel at the other end; one cable run of 4 twisted
pair can be used to transmit 2 sets of data signals.
- Must be used in pairs - frequently one plugged into an office faceplate, the other to patch panel in a cabinet
- Economises on use of solid core premise wiring by splitting data signal into two sets
